After watching the video, I started my youtube channel and began to share more videos that I find useful. 
From then till now, I concluded that starting a youtube channel is easy but building up the viewership is hard. It will take a year or so to monetise it. In order for you to monetise the channel, you will need 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours (within the last 365 days). Once you achieve it you can initiate the process of monetisation, youtube will still need to approve the channel and I heard it may take days to months. 
Currently I have about 18 subscribers. I share videos on relaxing music and money making videos. In the future, I hope I can put up videos of me reviewing books or games, both are my hobbies.
