Good day to all!
Today is the fourth day of CNY (Chinese New Year) and a public holiday in Singapore. I have been spending a lot of the time eating new year goodies and sleeping. (On top of the visiting on the eve and 1st day of CNY) And because of the 'heaty' food, I developed oral ulcers, OUCH!
As I read the review received from Tomoson.com (http://melaniesfancies.blogspot.sg/2014/02/book-review-d-nine-by-magnus-tor.html), I realised something in myself. All the books that I wrote are very different, none are of the same style.
New Dawn, my very first try at writing was written in a 3rd person (as most novels) and also had quite a bit of medical terms since the main character was supposed to be a surgeon. Surgery was my choiced specialty as I am not the thinking kind but the ones who is good with my hands, still remembering helping my consultant during a laparoscopic surgery (Gynae) and he commented that I am good at controlling the camera. He guessed that I am a gamer and well, he was right. Somehow playing games make you understand camera movement very well.
My second book, D-Nine, was a fantasy book written in the 1st person perspective. A little weird to read for most as it read like a diary. But I enjoyed it, as you see everything from just 1 person and leaves you a lot of room to figure the rest for yourself. This was a bed time story which I told to my Mao Ji.
3rd book is The Phantom of Misery Sea, another book written in the 1st person view. Because I wanted to hide a secret to be revealed at the end of the story. As most of my friend know, I wrote this after watching anime titled Sword Art Online and Accel. Both anime are by the same writer if I am not wrong.
4th book that I had written is Life Bank (although Life Guide is published first, but it wasn't a story so I will leave it out). And it will returned to the 3rd person way of writing. The story is also very different, more down to earth, although there is a mystical part to it. It will be more drama then adventure seen in the previous 3 books.
So I think, if one likes one of my books they may not like my other books since I try to be different every time, typical of a Gemini.
Still I hope my readers will love my book. Next time I will attempt children's book.
